Why Do We Go?

If you are familiar with our ministry, you know that most of our ministry trips involve going to Bible colleges. These schools are training people to work in pastoral and evangelistic ministries.

Sometimes when people hear ‘Wyss Missions’ they think that we either (a) go on summer mission trips all year or ( b) organize group trips. At this point, this is not what the Lord has called us to do. We are called to equip others for their ministries and callings.

Are you familiar with these verses about teaching ministry?

Acts 5:42 says, "Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

Ephesians 4:11-13 says, "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up...

Ephesians 4 lists the five fold ministry gifts. At Wyss Missions we build up the Church by teaching of the Word of God. A Bible teacher has insights that help the believer live a godly life. Students are equipped for ministry through teaching.

We are all called to the work of the ministry. The apostle, prophet, pastor, evangelist, and teacher have the responsibility to equip others for their callings and ministries. Antoine and I are called to teach.

That brings me back to my point…why do we go? We have connections to Bible colleges all over the world that need teaching ministers. This is where we come in! We travel to places where students are hungry for the Word of God.  Many of them are already pastors who need more training.

It is humbling to stand in their classrooms and see the looks on their faces. They listen and receive the Word of God with open hearts. We can see it in their faces, hear it in their words.

We consider it a great privilege to serve these students and ministers by teaching the Bible, as well as practical ministry subjects. When we teach a class of 100 students, together we are reaching thousands!

Your prayers and financial support help others understand and become established in the Word of God. They, in turn, share the gospel with others. Together we can reach many, many more with the Good News! We thank you for partnering and supporting the teaching of the Word!
